The primary purpose of this position is to serves as on-site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), Financial Services Division and exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over assigned Travel Review or Travel Computation Team.
Major Duties:
1. Serves as the senior financial manager for the team. As the team's senior financial manager, the incumbent serves as the technical expert for the wide-array of travel claim types, to include Permanent Change of Station (PCS) and Temporary Duty (TDY) for active duty and Title 10 reserve military, as well as Department of the Air Force (DAF) civilians. 2. Represents the Travel Pay Processing Teams with a variety of DoD, Air Force, higher headquarters, and functional area organizations. 3. Promotes Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Practices. Promotes efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Recommends, and encourages subordinates to bring forth any process and system improvement ideas that could save time, eliminate rework, and/or increase customer travel payments. 4. Performs first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of assigned Travel Pay or Travel Computation team.
