Food Service Worker

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Youngstown Club on Youngstown Air Reserve Base, Ohio. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas. The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Major Duties: Applicants will be reviewed and referred every two weeks until the close of this announcement. Sets up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages. Serves food cafeteria-style. Breaks down and cleans serving and dining areas when meals are complete. Sets up dining room tables for service, places food and beverages on tables, and replenishes items as necessary. Sets up and operates dishwashers; performs preventive maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs bowls, pots, and pans. Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as cleaning ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, floors, walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and sanitizing garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal areas. Assembles and tosses fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings and portions them into standard serving sizes. Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Prepares coffee, tea, and other beverages. Performs other related duties as assigned.
