Bakery Counter

Bakeshop is hiring an outgoing counter person to greet and serve our customers. We are a retail and wholesale neighborhood bakery in NE Portland. Our bakers are detail oriented and hardworking, and we want someone at the counter with the same work ethic. Our customers are both friends from the neighborhood who visit us daily as well as visitors to Portland who make a special visit to our store. We want someone who is: 1. Quick to greet and engage customers in friendly dialog2. Able to acquire knowledge about our pastries and convey what we do to customers with confidence3. Motivated to run the counter cleanly and efficiently and be self directed4. Notices the small details and takes initiative5. Strives to perform their job consistently each day This position also involves side work that includes but is not limited to: Sweeping and mopping the shop, taking out trash/recycling, dishes, stocking paper products, stamping bags, light kitchen prep, keeping the front wiped down and free of fingerprints. We are looking for one person to work Saturdays and Sundays from 7am - 2pm throughout the summer months. There is the potential to pick up shifts and add shifts in the future. Able to start over next few weeks.Compensation begins at $18-20/hour plus tips and is dependent upon experience. Thanks!
