Job Summary Nadia Vassell Salon is a Black-owned luxury hair salon located in the heart of SoHo, New York City. We specialize exclusively in Black women's hairstyles — silk presses, weave installations, wigs, braids, cuts, color, and more. We have been a staple in this community for over 20 years and we take our craft seriously. We are looking for a Licensed Hair Stylist who matches that energy. What we're looking for: • New York State Cosmetology License (required) • Minimum 5 years of in-salon experience working with Black hair • Proficiency in silk presses, weave and wig installations, braids, cuts, and natural hair styles • An established clientele OR a proven ability and hunger to build one • A professional, client-focused attitude • Someone who takes pride in their work and shows up consistently This is NOT the role for you if: • You have years of experience but no portfolio to show for it • You cannot demonstrate your skills through photos or video of your actual work • You are looking for a booth rental situation To apply, you MUST submit: • Your resume • Your Instagram page or an online portfolio showing your work with working with Textured hair — silk presses, weaves, braids, cuts, color, etc. • Applications without a portfolio will not be considered • You will be asked to perform a demo and provide your own model This is an employee position.
