Job Overview The Core Cleaner / Core Capper is responsible for preparing sand cores for production use by cleaning, finishing, and sealing cores in accordance with quality and safety standards. This role supports foundry operations by ensuring cores are free from defects, properly sealed, and ready for use in the casting process. Responsibilities • Transport boards of cores to the designated work area and clean cores by removing flash and rough edges; apply core daub to defective surfaces as needed. • Cap cores by placing them on a stove to create a sand seal on the open end of the core, following established procedures. • Maintain cleanliness and ensure safe operation of the work area and equipment. • Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. • Experience: No minimum experience required. Physical Requirement: The role requires standing or walking for the entire shift, the ability to lift up to 30 to 35 pounds, and frequent repetitive handling of parts that involves continuous use of the wrists and arms. Employees must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, dust and are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
