Job Duties • Mail Preparation: Sorting, hoisting, and shifting moderate to heavy quantities of mail and packages to prepare for distribution and dispatch. • Retail Service: Assist the public with general mailing needs, including selling stamps, processing specialized mail, and answering customer inquiries. • Administrative Tasks: Help customers with change of address forms, mail holds, and issuing post office box keys while maintaining accurate records. • Financial Accountability: Retrieve dues for postage charges on delivery and maintain accurate daily financial records for retail transactions. • Environment: Fulfill responsibilities indoors, adhering to strict schedules and ensuring compliance with all USPS safety policies and organizational regulations. Requirements • Eligibility: Minimum of 18 years old (or 16 years old with a high school diploma). • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of a U.S. territory. • Physical Ability: Capable of standing for long durations and carrying moderate to heavy loads (up to 70 lbs) on a regular basis. • Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
