This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Major Duties:
The Mental Health Department at the Phoenix VA is seeking a psychologist for their Community Living Center (CLC) The psychologist will function as a full member of the Mental Health Medical Staff and serve as the primary psychologist for the CLC. This individual will provide ongoing consultation services to other team members. NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this position. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Promotes the delivery of evidence-based psychosocial and environmental interventions for reducing behavioral and psychological symptoms Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, and psycho-educational classes. Develops person-centered, culturally sensitive treatment to address mental health needs of residents in the Community Living Center. Screen, assess, diagnose and treat the full spectrum of mental health conditions found in medical patient population. Assess and provide treatment for subclinical symptoms of dysphoria and anxiety, adjustment difficulties, and excessive use or misuse of alcohol or drugs. Provide psychological preventions services to residents at significant risk for developing psychological problems. Consults with treatment team colleagues on a wide variety of resident care issues.
