We invest in our team the same way we invest in our clients. If you know your community and care about the families in it, we will give you the platform, support, and growth path to do meaningful work here.
About the Role
We are hiring a Community Outreach Coordinator to help launch and grow Texas Care’s presence in San Antonio.
This is a community-facing role for someone who knows how to build relationships from the ground up. You will be the face of Texas Care in San Antonio neighborhoods, building partnerships with apartment complexes, schools, daycares, churches, community centers, and local businesses, representing the clinic at community events, and helping families learn about the behavioral health services we offer.
We are looking for someone with strong existing ties to the San Antonio community. Familiarity with the Vance Jackson area and surrounding neighborhoods is a significant plus.
What You’ll Do
• Build and maintain relationships with community contacts: apartment complexes, schools, daycares, churches, laundromats, community centers, and local businesses.
• Distribute marketing materials and provide health education about the types of services Texas Care offers.
• Represent Texas Care at community-sponsored educational events, health fairs, and other community or nonprofit events.
• Plan and promote Texas Care community events that raise awareness of available services.
• Identify new partnership and event opportunities and bring them to leadership.
• Provide families with clear, accurate information about Texas Care’s services and how to access them.
• Help interested families understand the intake process and connect them with the clinical team.
• Log outreach activity in the designated time tracking system with date, location, contacts made, and outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
• Established community presence in San Antonio. Contacts in the Vance Jackson area are a significant plus.
• Prior experience in community outreach, community organizing, community health worker roles, nonprofit work, or behavioral health outreach.
• Comfort working independently in the field and building relationships from a cold start.
• Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and in front of groups.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver’s license.
Preferred Background
We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:
• QMHP-CS or other behavioral health staff with outreach experience
• Community health workers and community organizers
• Nonprofit program staff with community engagement experience
• Faith-based community leaders
• Outreach or partnership roles in healthcare, education, or social services
A clinical credential is not required for this role.
Why Join Texas Care?
• Build something from the ground up. You will help shape what Texas Care looks like in San Antonio.
• Flexible scheduling. Manage your own time in the field.
• Growth opportunities. As we expand, we promote from within.
• Supportive team. We back our outreach staff with marketing materials, training, and clear systems.
Compensation & Details
• 1099 Contractor Position
• Part-time hourly pay for outreach work
• Performance-based incentives tied to community engagement and program enrollment milestones
• Full compensation details will be shared during the interview process
• Field-based role across San Antonio
A Note on How We Work
All outreach is conducted in compliance with Texas Medicaid provider marketing guidelines. Our outreach focuses on community education, partnership building, and connecting families to services, not unsolicited solicitation. We will train you on what compliant community engagement looks like.
