Our team is currently looking for a Road Transport Refrigeration Technician in our climate temperate garage and truck wash located in Northeast Philadelphia. We have a space for your toolbox to call home. The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the transport refrigeration industry. This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. Primary Duties: • Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. • Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. • Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs. • Conform to all safety and health standards • Comply with state vehicle and DOT vehicle requirements • Ensure that refrigeration systems are operating in compliance with safety and environmental regulations Requirements: • 1-2 years technical experience of road transport refrigeration • Working knowledge of Thermo King, Carrier, Cold Plate systems preferred • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record • Must be willing to work overtime • Must have own tools • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Attention to detail and highly organized Minimum Requirements Physical Requirements • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. • Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day) • Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day) • Capability to lift to 100 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation. • Position requires listening to and diagnosing equipment functionality by sound • Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms. • Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day) • Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position • Ability to reach above shoulder level and below waist level frequently • Ability to maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling equipment • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including noise, temperature fluctuations, and industrial settings • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection, if needed. • Ability to visually inspect equipment to ensure quality and safety standards Compensation: Pay rate depends on experience (weekly pay via direct deposit).
