Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented all levels of Access Control Security Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing access control systems and related security infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of facilities by managing electronic security systems, sensors, CCTV, fire alarms, and low voltage wiring. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with clients, and enhance security solutions through innovative system design and field service excellence.
Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and service access control systems including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and remote access software.
• Troubleshoot and repair security hardware such as CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), fire alarms, and surveillance equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents to ensure precise installation and maintenance.
• Conduct field service visits to client sites for system upgrades, repairs, or new installations involving low voltage cabling and electrical components.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs; provide expert guidance on system design and integration.
• Perform testing of security systems to verify proper operation; document issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports, incident logs, and system configurations.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a service technician in security or telecommunication systems with a strong background in system design and installation.
• Knowledge of computer networking principles essential for configuring remote access software and networked security devices.
• Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical experience for handling power tools, hand tools, cabling, and construction-related tasks.
• Familiarity with CCTV surveillance systems, sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), fire alarm systems, and locksmithing concepts.
• Ability to read schematics accurately; experience working with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in low voltage systems; capable of diagnosing issues in complex security setups.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients and team members; detail-oriented with a focus on safety protocols.
