Senior Resource Specialist – Power Markets & Energy Trading Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid) Duration: 6-Month Assignment with potential to extend / convert Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM with alternating Fridays off Pay Rate: $76 - $84/hour About the Opportunit yWe are seeking an experienced Senior Resource Specialist (Power Marketer) to support a dynamic Power Operations and Planning team. This role is ideal for a highly analytical energy professional with extensive experience in Power Trading, Energy Origination, and Wholesale Energy Markets. The successful candidate will identify, evaluate, and execute transactions involving physical and financial power products while helping manage market, operational, and financial risk within a complex wholesale energy portfolio . This position requires deep expertise in Western U.S. power markets, renewable energy transactions, resource adequacy, and energy risk management, along with the ability to develop strategic market insights and negotiate complex commercial agreement s. What You'll • DoAnalyze power and energy markets to identify trading, hedging, and procurement opportuniti • es.Execute and support transactions involving Energy, Resource Adequacy, Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Carbon Allowances, and Transmission Capaci • ty.Develop market insights and strategies to manage portfolio ri • sk.Collaborate with operations, scheduling, and analytics teams to support energy trading activiti • es.Negotiate and manage energy agreements, including PPAs, Resource Adequacy contracts, and other long-term transactio • ns.Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, power producers, and market participan • ts.Utilize ETRM systems and analytical tools to evaluate opportunities and exposur • es.Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team environme nt. Required Qualificat • ionsBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy Management, Mathematics, Business, or a related fi • eld.Minimum 6+ years of direct experience in Power Trading, Energy Origination, Energy Marketing, or Energy Risk Managem • ent.Strong knowledge of wholesale power markets, particularly CA • ISO.Experience with ETRM platforms such as Allegro, Endur, OATI, PCI, or simi • lar.Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis ski • lls.Knowledge of energy derivatives, renewable energy markets, battery storage valuation, and power purchase agreeme • nts.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management ski lls.
