Role Description The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cleveland, OH. This position supports the Store Manager in daily store operations, including supervising team members, maintaining store standards, and ensuring shelves, fresh departments, and service areas are well-stocked and inviting. The role oversees customer service on the sales floor, addresses customer questions and concerns, and helps ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, training, and coaching staff; monitoring inventory, shrink, and retail loss prevention practices; and supporting merchandising, pricing, and promotional execution. The Assistant Store Manager also helps track performance metrics, supports opening and closing procedures, and ensures compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.
Qualifications
• Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with a commitment to creating a positive shopping experience.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and leadership in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in Store Management, including supervising staff, coordinating daily operations, and supporting merchandising and inventory control.
• Basic knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices, including monitoring for shrink, following cash-handling procedures, and promoting a culture of safety and integrity.
• Previous experience in grocery, retail, or a related customer-facing environment is preferred.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proven problem-solving skills, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working in a diverse team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in retail, business, or management is a plus.
