Duties • Conduct door-to-door visits to households and businesses to collect census data accurately and efficiently. • Promote awareness of the census’s importance within local communities to encourage participation. • Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits to ensure complete coverage of assigned areas. • Engage with community members using excellent communication skills, explaining the purpose of the census and addressing questions or concerns. • Maintain detailed records of interactions, visits, and data collection activities to ensure data integrity. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet outreach goals and improve field operations. • Represent the Census Bureau professionally at all times, demonstrating integrity, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Skills • Proven supervising experience or leadership skills to coordinate team efforts effectively. • Strong marketing and customer service skills to engage diverse populations positively. • Experience in door-to-door canvassing, sales, telemarketing or fundraising is highly desirable. • Bilingual abilities are a plus for communicating with non-English speaking community members. • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex information clearly and persuasively. • Negotiation skills to handle questions or objections tactfully while maintaining professionalism. • Ability to work independently in outdoor environments, walking long distances and navigating various neighborhoods.
