Barista (Part-Time)

Job Summary Starting Pay: $16.20/hr + Tips Location: Wolf & Co. – Chicago, IL Start Date: April/May WolfCo Café is part of Wolf & Co., a brand-new two-story concept that includes a full-service restaurant, bar, grocer, deli, and café — located right off the 606 Trail in Chicago with access from both the trail and Western Ave bridge. We’re looking for experienced, energetic baristas to join our launch team. This is a fast-paced, in-house program focused on quality, hospitality, and community. In addition to coffee and espresso, our café will serve breakfast sandwiches/wraps, pastries, smoothies, and seasonal drinks, all crafted in house. • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items according to established recipes and standards. • Operate Toast POS system efficiently for order processing and cash handling. • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, dining area, and equipment. • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. • Maintain knowledge of menu items, including seasonal offerings, to assist customers effectively. • Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures at all times. • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages as needed. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Qualifications • 6 months barista experience minimum, will not consider without the experience, must have experience with a manual espresso machine. • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. • Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and food handling practices is desirable, -latte art not mandatory but a plus! • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. • Flexibility to work various shifts, weekend availability is required.
