Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Specialist to join our Reconciliation team within a leading Wealth Management business. This role offers an end-to-end perspective of wealth operations, serving as a critical hub that connects with all operational divisions. The ideal candidate is a tenacious problem solver who thrives on investigating data breaks, identifying root causes, and ensuring total transactional accuracy. This is a contract position with a high likelihood of extension, supporting an established team of nine. The role operates on an 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM schedule (with flexibility to adjust hours earlier) and is located on-site 4 days a week at our offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Key Responsibilities • Reconciliation & Investigation: Review daily reconciliations across complex financial data, including buys and sales of equities, mergers, stock splits, income activity, and capital calls. • Problem Resolution: Investigate data breaks, isolate root causes, and maintain a persistent, tenacious approach to driving complex transactional errors through to complete resolution. • Systems & Data Management: Utilize MS Excel (including Pivot Tables and vLookUps) and MS Access to manage and assess financial data points within friendly user databases. • Cross-Operations Collaboration: Connect daily with broader operational units, developing a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end Wealth business structures. • Team Communication: Participate in daily internal Teams calls and monitor shared group email inboxes to ensure assigned work flows efficiently and transparently. Qualifications • 1-3+ years of operational or data-driven experience (experience in financial services or banking strongly preferred) • High computer literacy with hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes • Analytical mindset with the capability to assess large datasets and draw clear, accurate conclusions • Exceptional attention to detail and a strict commitment to data accuracy Preferred Experience • Direct prior experience working within reconciliation, banking operations, or Wealth Management-related processes • Familiarity with core financial and investment banking terminology • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, vLookUps) • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a shared, monitored group inbox structure • Demonstrated capability to work independently while collaborating via digital channels (MS Teams) • Bachelor’s degree Why Join Us Joining the Reconciliation team offers a unique opportunity to build a strong, holistic understanding of Wealth business operations from an end-to-end perspective.
