Role: Data Operations Lead (Capital Markets) Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Role Overview: As an Alpha Data Operations Lead (VP), you are responsible for the accuracy, data integrity, and readiness of client data across the end to end production lifecycle. Acting as the final sign off prior to CRIMS trading and downstream client and regulatory reporting, you will provide independent judgement on data quality, operational risk, and control effectiveness, ensuring client confidence and regulatory soundness. You will operate as a senior escalation point and trusted partner to client teams, Front Office, Technology, and external vendors, setting standards for data governance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across Alpha Data Operations. Responsibilities Client Excellence · Accountable for the production, oversight, and approval of monthly, annual, and ad-hoc client reporting, including KPIs, board-level materials, activity reporting, and expense calculations · Lead the investigation, resolution, and governance of complex client and internal data issues, ensuring root cause analysis, control gap identification, and prevention of recurrence. · Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-risk data, asset servicing, and production issues, determining root cause, remediation approach, and escalation paths where required. · Partner with Client Pods, Front Office Support, and Product teams to ensure service readiness, accuracy, and consistency across client deliveries. · Provide team leadership and guidance through knowledge sharing, coaching, and best-practice setting. Operational & Risk Excellence · Accountable for final data readiness and quality sign-off for CRIMS trading and downstream reporting, applying informed judgement on risk, materiality, and client impact · Own and oversee Security Master governance, data validation frameworks, reconciliations, and integrity controls across the Alpha ecosystem, including vendor-sourced data. · Ensure audit-ready control environments, maintaining robust documentation, evidence trails, reconciliations, and sign-off artefacts in line with enterprise risk standards. · Set expectations and standards for issue transparency, documentation quality, and timeliness, aligned with regulatory and client scrutiny. · Drive process, control, and automation improvements, including the use of AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and resilience. · Provide senior leadership, technical oversight, and mentoring to team members within Alpha Data Operations · Act as a recognised subject matter expert within Alpha Data Operations, supporting talent development and succession Requirements and Qualifications · Significant experience within investment operations, data operations, asset servicing, or Alpha / front to back investment platforms, with proven accountability for data integrity and production readiness at scale · Experience working across Front Office, Middle Office, Technology, Risk, and external vendors, with the credibility to challenge and influence senior stakeholders · Experience in a regulated financial services environment, with exposure to audits, regulatory enquiries, and formal risk governance. · Familiarity with CRIMS or equivalent trading / IBOR / downstream reporting platforms (or demonstrably transferable expertise). · Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience · Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
