Payroll Supervisor/Manager

We are looking for a Payroll Supervisor/Manager to join a field services organization in the Oil & Gas industry in Houston, Texas. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a payroll specialist who can oversee end-to-end payroll operations, support employees with payroll-related questions, and ensure compliance with applicable tax and wage regulations. The position requires a hands-on leader who can balance accuracy, responsiveness, and reporting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Oversee complete payroll processing from initial data review through final submission, ensuring wages, deductions, and tax withholdings are calculated accurately and on schedule.• Address employee questions related to pay, deductions, and eligible reimbursement matters with clear and timely communication.• Prepare payroll-related financial reports, including general ledger support data, and provide requested information to internal stakeholders.• Monitor federal, state, and local payroll requirements to help maintain compliance with current laws affecting payroll, benefits, and expense practices.• Review payroll records for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain thorough documentation to support audits and internal controls.• Coordinate payroll activities across multi-state employee populations while meeting reporting deadlines and payment obligations.• Use payroll and HR systems to maintain employee pay data, validate updates, and support consistent processing standards.• Partner with internal teams to improve payroll workflows, maintain organized records, and support operational efficiency.
